FROM A SKETCH TO REALITY

From sketch to reality - Dream Dresses by PMN

Custom, literally meaning made or done to order for a particular customer, is what we specialize in when it comes to creating and designing wedding gowns. All custom, bespoke dresses begin with an initial sketch and design. This step allows us, the designer, and the client, to collaborate in the process of making your dream dress. Our brides usually come to us with a basic concept in mind of their dress design, in order to have a rough design idea. Then, we can move onto the sketching phase; arguably, the most exciting step, as brides love to see their ideas emerge on paper. Today, we are excited to show you how some of our gorgeous sketches came to life, and what what the end result was like!

Our stunning client, Adina, dreamed of gold on her glamorous wedding day in Palm Springs, CA. We sketched up the concept she had for her nontraditional gown, which included a two-in-one sheath lace silhouette with a detachable skirt. We decided on golden lace applique and soft, sparkly tulle to construct her gown, for a voluminous, chic look. Adina's gown looked utterly show-stopping and dazzling!

Black custom dress

Gabrielle black wedding dress - Dream Dresses by PMN

The gorgeous, Gabrielle, came to us coveting an alternative bridal ball gown for her special day. We drew an outline of what Gabrielle dreamed of, which was a black, dramatic, pleated ballgown silhouette, with long sleeves, and a wide V-neckline. For an extra sparkle and shine, we adorned the gown with pearl and crystal embellishments. We love how the finished product looked on Gabrielle; a midnight queen!

Pastel pink custom ao dai

We love getting creative when it comes to designing ao dai bridal gowns, especially fusing modern designs with traditional styles for a unique ensemble. Our gorgeous client, Tonya, came to us dreaming of wearing a bridal ao dai on her wedding day, and together, we collaborated in designing a traditional ao dai, with modern elements. Tonya's ao dai features a whimsy blush pink tone, with an illusion neckline and sheer sleeves, and a classic tall collar to tie the look together. Tonya's gown beautifully encompasses traditions with a contemporary flair.

Lace custom ball gown

Kaytie a-line lace wedding dress - Dream Dresses by PMN

The ethereal, Michelle, looks unbelievably stunning in her custom lace wedding dress. With an ultra-feminine A-line silhouette, illusion plunging neckline, and dainty lace detailing from head-to-toe, during our sketch phase, we were able to make certain all of these intricate details were exactly what our bride dreamed of. The sketching step allows our brides to really begin envisioning their gown, and also allows them to make any adjustments or tweaks to their liking. We were so thrilled with how Michelle's gown looked! The delicate lace accents contrast perfectly against the gown.

Halloween inspired custom ball gown

Gold and black ball gown - Dream Dresses by PMN

The lovely, Caitlyn, came to us with a clear wedding theme in mind, which was a Halloween inspired wedding day. She desired a nontraditional style gown that would reflect this theme, and what better way to embrace the spooky season than to opt for a gold and black color scheme? We decided on an off-the-shoulder style neckline for a romantic, elegant touch, and for a sparkly aesthetic, we selected a golden sequin tulle and shimmering fabric as the material. Caitlyn was utterly thrilled with the result, and she looked like a Halloween princess adorned in her bespoke ballgown.

Navy custom ao dai

Teresa navy ao dai - Dream Dresses by PMN

We are swooning over this enchanting navy ao dai, custom made for our client, Teresa. Conventionally, red is the color worn by a Vietnamese bride on their wedding day, however, Teresa desired a less traditional option, and chose a deep, navy blue color. To add an extra element of depth to the ensemble, we added glistening embellishments and beading work for an unmissable gleam. And, for a splash of drama, we added a chapel length train, perfect for gliding down the aisle in. Teresa's gown turned out beautifully, and exactly to her liking!
