THE MODERN AO DAI

The áo dài is undeniably a fashion staple for women in Vietnam. For those unfamiliar, áo dài is a traditional Vietnamese costume, classically featuring a tunic and high collar, with long pants underneath. Over time, this well-adored ensemble has evolved and changed overtime to incorporate contemporary looks and modern flares, while still keeping its Vietnamese roots. Some of ways the áo dài has been modernized is through materials, necklines, nontraditional colors and silhouette shapes. The áo dài is also an incredibly versatile piece, as it can come with different designs depending on the occasion, whether it is a bridal áo dài, or for a festival or event.

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! It is now officially the year of the Tiger, and what better way to honor the year 2022 than to show our fierce Dream Dresses brides adorned in our glamorous, yet classic, áo dài designs. The áo dài is a timeless staple in Vietnamese culture, however, the beauty of this dress is that it is not only limited to Vietnamese brides. Women from all over the world can suit this style, and look fabulous. Traditionally, Vietnamese women would pair the áo dài (long shirt dress) with a khăn đóng headpiece. The Evolution of Áo Dài

Many have heard of the Áo Dài (pronounced ow yai), a traditional Vietnamese dress that is comprised of a long tunic with splits on either side worn over pants. And while it may be called a dress, it is not reserved exclusively for women.  Source: Life Magazine Áo Dài is a garment that can be worn daily by anyone - men, women, and even children.
